History

Be the Bread was established with the vision of channeling resources and necessities to aids orphans and people in rural, hard-living communities in Africa. The need for life-sustaining efforts was noticed, and Be the Bread was created. Bread is the most simple of foods and has been the staple diet of man for centuries. The nourishing qualities of bread and the like, is the basic source of energy needed to do a day of work. With this in mind, Be the Bread got its name with the idea that you, the giver, be the sustaining answer to the poorest of the poor.

Be the Bread aims to be the catalyst in the process of assisting contributors, donors and volunteers in being the bread to those who are yearning for a better quality of life. Africa specifically knows hardship and "to lack all", therefore Be the Bread has made Africa its mission target.

This humanitarian, non-for-profit organization has been satisfying needs all over Southern Africa, and has a strong hope to continue doing so for many years to come. The recipients of BTB's support and your contributions are given encouragement far beyond what many of us can grasp.

Mission

BtB's mission is to be a facilitator between the givers that have the desire to assist and the less fortunate living in Africa that are in need of assistance. Be the Bread exists to create opportunities, form solutions and empower people to be part of the solution.

BtB holds true...

  • that individuals are not asked to do everything but all individuals should do something to better the world.
  • that most individuals have a desire to make a lasting difference in the world.
  • that we can be a link to help individuals achieve their desire to make a lasting difference in the world.
  • that making a lasting difference entails the training and empowering of others towards sustainable change.
  • that it is better to make a large impact on select projects.
  • that it is important to provide the giver transparent feedback.
